Hosting the Midnight Jamboree - What a thrill it was to host the legendary Midnight Jamboree at the Ernest Tubb Record Shop in Nashville, TN. We made lots of new friends as it was broadcasted live on WSM 650 and XM Radio. Thanks to all of you who stood in line afterwards to talk to us. After leavin' some country music on 'em, we went next door to Rudi's and ate breakfast with Leon Rhodes! (He was ET's lead guitar player.) In other words, it was a wonderful night!

We
are proud to say that we
were part of the Country
Music Hall of Fame Medallion
Ceremonies in Nashville on
June 29th. Four artists were
asked to tribute the
Statlers
with
song on the night of their
induction. Reba McEntire
sang "Flowers on the Wall",
then the hot new bluegrass
duo, Dailey & Vincent, did
their rendition of "Do You
Know You Are My Sunshine?",
and then we, Grandstaff, sat
on stools and performed "The
Statler Brothers Song." And
for the finale, the Statlers
said their words of thanks
to all that contributed to
that shiny piece of medal
hanging around their necks,
then grabbed the microphones
and sang "I'll Go To My
Grave Loving You."
Electricity and magic filled
the room as everyone rose to
their feet and held on to
that four part harmony one
more time. Truly, a night to
remember.
The following day, we sang a
couple of songs at the
legendary Ernest Tubb Record
Shop in downtown Nashville.
What a thrill to grace the
same stage that so many
country music greats have
strummed their guitars and
sang their notes on.
And
to cap the trip off, we,
along with buddies and
highly acclaimed songwriters
Gordon and Bryan Kennedy,
played the famous Bluebird
Cafe in Nashville. The four
of us sat in the round for
two hours, laughed at each
other, shared some heartfelt
stories and sang some hit
songs of ours along with
some that are buried a
little deeper in the folder.
Thanks to the Bluebird,
everyone in that jam-packed
room and to Gordon and
Bryan, our musical brothers,
for sharing this experience
with us. We look forward to
the next one!
Our
new song, "The Statler
Brothers Song" and the
CD, Live & Well is available for
